Suramadu Investment Gathering Offers Rp53.1tn Projects
The Surabaya-Madura Development Agency (BPWS) held the Suramadu Investment Gathering at the Investment Coordinating Board’s (BKPM) building in Jakarta, July 31. The event was held as the central government’s form of support to regional governments to spur investments.
The gathering was attended by foreign investors and representatives of foreign embassies in Indonesia, to which the BPWS offered Rp53.1 trillion worth of projects.
Some of the projects offered in the Suramadu Investment Gathering are the Tanjung Bulu Pandan Port, a 15.3-kilometer toll road at the KKJSM, the industrial estates in Labang and Klampis, as well as two Central Business District (CBD) projects.
BKPM’s deputy for investment promotion Himawan Hariyoga said investments in Suramadu will further increase the amount of actual investment in East Java Province.
He said that East Java is one of the five biggest investment contributors in Indonesia. In the first semester this year, BKPM records showed that East Java’s actual investment was the third largest with Rp33.9 trillion
