Mining giant PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) has announced the resignation of its President Director Chappy Hakim on Saturday (18/2).

As quoted by a written statement by PT Freeport, Chappy will be posted to his initial position as a corporate advisory in a mining company, which is a subsidiary of PT Freeport, in Papua.

During the announcement, Chappy said becoming Freeport President Director is an honor.

“I would also like to extend my appreciation to the company and its talented team,” he said.

He added that becoming the President Director also needs an extraordinary time commitment.

“I have decided that for the best interest of PT Freeport and my family, I would like to resign as the President Director and continue my support as a corporate advisory,” he added.
