Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi expects Chinese investors to develop the Tegalluar-Kertajati Airport high-speed train project, in addition to the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train project.

“It should be [China]. [The investment value] to develop transportation infrastructures in Indonesia is Rp1,500 trillion. We have Rp500 trillion, and we need to pool Rp1,000 trillion from the private sector,” he said in Jakarta yesterday, Oct. 25.

With the Kertajati Airport high-speed train, Budi said, the Airport can be reached within 30 minutes from Tegalluar with a speed of 200 kilometers per hour.

The minister revealed that the infrastructure development for the train will not commence soon. He said that the government is focusing on completing the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train project.

According to Budi, the financing structure and the investment value for the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train project will remain the same.

He added that the with solid planning and coordination between his Ministry and the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry, the project development will commence soon.
